Bio:

Jimi Hendrix already played the heaviest shit; he cannot be outdone. We strive to follow his example, and the examples of many of his disciples. We see the schism between heavy and psychedelic as null. True heaviness IS psychedelic, as the recordings of Hendrix demonstrate. For the last 40+ years, metal has surely gotten more brutal, but has often left its psychedelic origins to wither. We hold that our metal should be both heavy and trippy.

Review:

Inside The Sun is a Psychedelic Doom Metal Band who deal in heavy psych doom metal riffs. It may not be the most prettiest thing you will hear this year but damn this band does have a lot of groove and hard-hitting riffs to impress you with.

Their latest self titled EP is one crazy fucked up ride that will get you high without the use of certain narcotics. The EP does have a great DIY vibe as it's not the most polished of productions but for once this works in the bands favour as these guys play down-tempo riffs with a lot of atmosphere thrown in for good measure.

And for once I can't compare these guys to any other bands. Maybe it's the awesome psych riffs that has clouded my way of thinking. Right.... Where was I at. Yeah...... This band. Riffs, Psychedelic, Doom Metal with vibes of Stoner Rock thrown in.

Yeah that sounds about right. Inside The Sun will speak volumes to Stoner/Doom Metal fans as these guys really do have something special about them. Check out awesome tracks such as Into The Air, Melt and the brilliantly titled - A Number Concerning the Inevitable Heat Death of the Universe. A track that has a very dark and sinister edge which I didn't expect at all.

Inside The Sun have the potential to be something special in the years to come. They are not quite there yet but give it a few more releases and I have a feeling we will be hearing a lot more from Inside The Sun. But until then check out this excellent EP as it's one action packed ride that will speak volumes to the Doom/Stoner Metal crowd.

Excellent and Highly Recommended.
